Schema therapy is an integrative approach that uses various elements from CBT, Gestalt, Attachment and Object relations theories and Experiential Techniques, for any emotional difficulty that is ongoing and originating in childhood, that may be presented as: depression, anger management issues, low self-esteem, relationship problems, fear of abandonment, perceived inner deficiency, co-dependency etc.
Schema therapy aims to address unmet emotional needs and to support clients break their own unhelpful patterns of thinking (schemas) – also known as ‘life traps’, develop self- awareness and empower them to develop a better quality of life.
